I have used gamification or game elements in various ways to increase engagement and enhance learning.

The following is one example of gamification in eLearning using an escape room concept. It includes a character and storytelling elements along with puzzles and challenges that must be completed in order to collect clues, move from room to room, and eventually escape. This type of gamification can be adapted for any topic with information or resources provided in each room along with quizzes, puzzles, or challenges to complete to reinforce or assess the learning.
